Hand-carved Teakwood blocks stamped rhythmically by master Sanganeri printers.
Natural botanical dyes on cloud-soft Indian Mulmul cotton.

A curated bridge to the timeless soul of Rajasthan.
Based in the rolling hills of the Cotswolds, From the Stepwell was founded to serve as a bridge to the exquisite heritage of Indian textile art. We specialise in clothing and lifestyle pieces handcrafted in Sanganer, Jaipur—the historic epicentre of woodblock printing.
Our collections are born through intimate collaboration with master craftspeople who have passed down the rhythm of hand-carved block printing through generations. One block, one colour, and one rhythm at a time, each intricate motif is pressed by hand into pure, breathable Mulmul cotton.
We believe deeply in slow fashion and transparent creation. We work closely on the ground with Riya and Puru in Jaipur, connecting traditional Sanganer artisans directly to our UK studio. This ensures fair compensation, authentic preservation of ancient printing guilds, and ethical tailoring standards.
